Tips for Best Results using Quick-See
How to Clip safely
When you cut nails using Quick-See, make sure that white is showing next to the purple. Then, using your clippers with the upper cutting blade away from the dog, cut off the dead nail tip with purple Quick-See. Do not cut directly on the indication point. Cut to the purple side of it to allow a bit of dead nail to protect the end of the quick.
Puppies Puppies should get used to the handling of their paws and the nail-trimming process as early in life as possible. If you train your dogs to allow you to put Quick-See on their nails, the anxiety of the nail-trimming process can become extinct. Dogs who have had their feet handled and Quick-See applied since puppyhood stay calm while Quick-See is applied to the nail and the nail is cut. They get a treat afterwards and they have never been 'quicked', so the whole process is non-threatening. Clipping can be done at home while you and your dog are in a relaxed state, creating more bonding moments between you and your pet.
Clippers
Remember to check your dog's nails after a trim to sure the clippers are not crushing the nail or leaving a splintered or rough edge. Make sure to check often that your clippers are sharp. If Quick-See leaves an adhesive build-up on your clippers after continued usage, clean with a dab of vegetable oil.
